CHOOSE THE BEST ELECTROLYSIS METHOD FOR YOU

Modern Electrolysis techniques have improved from the old days of cloth-covered wire and glowing vacuum tubes. While transistors and computers have revolutionized electronic devices, the basic principles of Electrolysis Hair Removal are unchanged. A trained electrologist inserts a fine, solid, pre-sterilized needle (wire or probe) into the hair follicle and applies a small amount of electrical current to permanently destroy the hair growth cells that lie mostly at the base of the follicle. Electrologists have a choice of three different methods of electrolysis to choose from.

There is much research by manufacturers searching for the “Holy Grail” of easy and lasting hair removal; one manufacturer makes the claim their device is permanent based on 9 weeks worth of results. Hardly true. Even old-fashioned waxing can last that long, and it's been clinically proven to be a temporary method. Note that in the United States, the FDA forbids the marketing of any hair removal technologies and services that guarantee permanent hair removal. This is because current methodologies only provide for permanent reduction in hair growth about 90% of the time, give or take 10 %. So don’t expect permanent removal without acknowledging the possibility of that 10% variation.

The Electrolysis Trinity
The main differences in the methods used by professional electrologists revolve around the type of electrical current that they elect to use:

  • Electrolysis /Galvanic - This method uses galvanic electricity - commonly referred to as direct current (DC) - to create a chemical action in the follicle. When the DC from an electrologists needle interacts with body salts and moisture, a minute quantity of lye is produced.
This caustic lye effectively destroys all the hair growth tissue it contacts; unlike depilatories or bleaches, no harsh chemicals are added.
  • Thermolysis - This method - also known as high frequency (HF) diathermy, radio wave, or short-wave -- uses alternating current (AC) electricity to kill hair growth cells with heat. The HF current delivered by the electrologists needle (in just a fraction of a second) agitates the follicle tissue and produces heat that is high enough in temperature to effectively destroy the active area receiving the treatment.
  • Blend - During blend treatment, galvanic treatment is performed along with thermolysis heating action. Both treatment energies are delivered at the same time. This combination, or double action, method is much more effective and efficient than either thermolysis or galvanic on its own.

A Good Option
Electrolysis hair removal is being adopted by a lot of people today because it is almost painless; the only thing you can feel through this procedure is very faint needle pricks, which can cause a tickling sensation but no pain
Electrolysis hair removal can be expensive but in fact it will work out saving you money in the long run, not to mention rid you off the pain you could undergo with cosmetic hair removal products. The process of electrolysis hair removal will take a few sessions to be completed during which you can work out a payment schedule for financial convenience.

It is very difficult to estimate the cost of electrolysis since hair grows denser for some people versus others. While an upper lip may take as little as one hour to treat, a man's back hair removal treatment may take 150 hours or even more. Electrolysis is definitely a tried and true option for those opting for permanent hair removal. Although sometimes costly, painful and time consuming, it may be the best option for people with certain hair or skin types, or for those with only a small amount of hair to be removed.
